Imagine drinking your smooth blend of brewed coffee and be surrounded with your favorite books and authors. Never mind if I’m drooling but really I cannot contain my excitement when I saw the books of Anne Rice, Nora Roberts, Robert Ludlum, Mario Puzo and many other. There’s a wide selection of books and magazine you’ll get confused where to start.

Book Latte is so cozy just like your at home and reading your fave books. But there’s more than just coffee and books, you’ve got to taste their Chef’s special pasta. Is having a Thai pasta enough for you to drool too? Or pasta with meatballs is good for you? Maybe you have to see it for your self.

Me and my BFF can’t resist the luscious American Breakfast with hush brown, eggs, pancakes, bacon, and sausage. And Oh! please add another coffee on this – (They do have unlimited coffee, no worries on that)..  Can’t help it I’m still drooling after this.

Few years back I can still recall how my visiting Uncle from Mindanao would always buy 5 to 10 servings
of talaba (oysters) at Allan’s Talabahan and he never missed it every time he’s around town. During that time
the resto was still located at there old cozy place, and by now they’ve transferred to a new location
along the hi-way going to Anhawan beach resort. Their new place is big enough for customers to comfortably
eat and relax.

This resto served wide array of seafoods but they are known with their special baked talaba and
steamed talaba. And most of the time talaba is complemented by grilled pork that even those
who are on diet cannot refuse this two delectable menu.

Its ten o’clock after midnight and my stomach is already growling. My system is sending off an alarm for brunch and needs a fuel called caffeine and what I have in mind is a much better solution for these chaos inside of me – Daily Buns at Diversion Road, Iloilo City. In a wide array of menu to choose from, I ordered their delectable porky thread, tuna pasta with mushroom cream sauce – which I am happy to find it in their display since I’m trying to cut down on my meat. A small rounded four slices of pizza with mushroom – enough to be shared by two person. And of course I can’t have it all without my brewed coffee.

Having a taste of tuna pasta at Daily Buns brought a great explosion on my spirit knowing that today I am eating healthy food as well as it taste good for my body and for my spirit. I believed that eating is not just an act or a requirement for our body but also an act of appreciation for the wonders of how a person created such food delicacy.

Most of all here’s the catch why me and my friend favored Daily Buns – which I may say a genius idea, they managed to placed a reading corner for the kids with various fantasy books. This placed is not only enjoyed by the adults but also by the kids especially those who are fond of eating pizza and pasta.

  On the menu book, you will read a few Spanish word actually most of their menu named in Spanish. Like Espaqueti  as the main category below it are the list of pasta they can serve such as Espaqueti a Lasagna, Espaqueti Paella, Vongole and Espaqueti Carbonara, etc. After deciding what to order, I have to asked the waiter the difference  of Caldereta de Lengua and Lengua Salpicon meaning these two are both cow’s tongue just cooked differently. Salpicon is saute in garlic while caldereta is mixture of red( tomato ) sauce and few spice like bell pepper and parsley leaves.

Carbonara with Chicken Fingers served with Iced Tea  cost: Php 99.00

  I’ve mentioned above expecting to taste their food with lots of sweetness rather full of flavours. But I guess we were not lucky to find it at Dulcinea. Everything taste differently  even the churros dip in chocolate, it was not even that sweet for a chocolate. Sorry but we were so disappointed after eating our meal. Like the soup, it looks tasty but when you had it inside your mouth, o-0h! you cannot find anything tasty except the oil it was made of. Or the caldereta de lengua with smelly taste and the sauce is too dull you can’t even say it was bitter or sour.  So much for a wise spent money.

As mentioned last week, Roberto’s will have another Roberto’s Queen Siopao Special Schedule this February 2011 until Valentines Day.

It is an advantage for a restaurant to post some banners or ads of their menu on the side road. The picture above was the ad that attracted my Mom and made her decide that we should try and eat at Salvi’s Grill.

From the outside, it looks like an ordinary “kamalig” type restaurant.

Upon entering, I was amazed by the beautiful view.

Just walking inside makes me feel like I am a Princess.

A choice of where to eat, in this kawayan (bamboo) table and chairs in an open space …

a closed kamalig (hut) for  groups …

a lumpiga (sitting on the floor) style of eating …

and a kamalig good for 4 people, which my Mom had chosen to be our dining place for this visit.

and the side, overlooking the road is just perfect.

It is not only the view of this place that filled my heart during our visit but also the delicious food they serve. It does not just look good on the ads, it taste even better.

A commendable place to dine. So if you are looking for a place to make you feel like a princess and would truly satisfy you, this one would probably be “IT.”
